First Impressions

Walking up to Christina Hotel on Ion Slatineanu Street, you immediately get that feeling of being right in the thick of things — but in a good way. This four-star property sits perfectly in Sector 1, and I mean perfectly. You’re close enough to hear the city’s heartbeat without getting overwhelmed by traffic noise, which honestly surprised me given how central the location is. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention but definitely catches your eye.

Location That Actually Works

Here’s what I love about the Christina Hotel’s spot — you can walk to most of Bucharest’s main attractions without needing to figure out the metro system on day one. The Old Town is just a pleasant stroll away, and if you’re into the whole café culture thing (which, let’s be honest, Bucharest does really well), you’ve got some fantastic options within a few blocks. Couples seem to particularly appreciate this setup, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being able to wander back to your hotel after dinner without dealing with taxis or public transport.

The Room Experience

You know what struck me most about my room? The bed was actually as comfortable as they claim it to be. I’m usually skeptical when hotels boast about their beds, but this one delivered on that promise — I slept better than I have in months. The rooms aren’t huge by any means, but they’re thoughtfully laid out with enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The decor leans modern without being cold, and there are these little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need (like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets for your devices).

Breakfast Worth Getting Up For

The breakfast situation here is honestly impressive for a four-star place. They’ve got this buffet setup that covers all the bases — continental options if you’re keeping it simple, vegetarian choices that actually look appealing, and they’ll even pack something to go if you’re catching an early flight or planning a day trip. I appreciated that they didn’t just throw together a sad collection of pastries and call it continental breakfast. The coffee was decent too, which matters more than you might think when you’re trying to fuel up for a day of sightseeing.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

There’s something to be said for a hotel that sees a lot of repeat visitors, and Christina Hotel definitely falls into that category. After staying there, I get it — it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Bucharest, but it nails the fundamentals that actually matter when you’re traveling. The staff seems to remember faces, the location makes exploring the city feel effortless, and you genuinely sleep well. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially when you’re more interested in discovering Bucharest than being impressed by your hotel lobby.

Hotels near me in Bucharest provide quick metro links to Revolution Square, art deco theatres, and Herastrau boat rides.

Good location, good sized rooms, bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch, and the beds had a cool function where you could raise or lower the top or bottom section. The wifi was good, and they left bottles of water in the room which was a nice touch. Breakfast was good and had a huge range of cereals. We also got individual toiletries and hygiene kits which were great. Perfect value for money, and the staff were lovely.
