First Impressions
Walking up to Grand Boutique Hotel on Strada Negustori, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked away on this quiet street in Bucharest‘s Sector 2, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building has this elegant facade that hints at the boutique experience waiting inside, and I mean, the name pretty much delivers on what it promises. You know what struck me first? How the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests arrive, not just going through the motions like at some of those bigger chain places.
The Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about this location — couples absolutely love it here, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. Strada Negustori sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to Bucharest’s main attractions but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually relax. The street itself is pretty peaceful, which is actually rare for a four-star hotel that’s still well-connected to everything. I found myself walking to the Old Town in about 15 minutes, and there are some really good local restaurants within a few blocks that most tourists never discover.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this nice balance — boutique touches without being overly themed or trying too hard. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom was modern without feeling sterile. What I appreciated most was the attention to lighting — you know how some hotels have either harsh overhead lights or barely-there mood lighting? Well, they actually got it right here. The windows are decent-sized too, so you get natural light during the day, which makes a bigger difference than you’d think when you’re exploring the city and coming back to recharge.
Service and Amenities
The service here feels personal without being intrusive — staff members remember your name after the first day, which is pretty nice. There’s a restaurant on-site that serves solid food, though honestly, with Bucharest’s dining scene right outside your door, I’d recommend exploring the neighborhood too. The hotel handles the basics really well — reliable WiFi, good water pressure, and they’re helpful with recommendations that go beyond the typical tourist spots. Parking is available, which is actually a relief if you’re driving in Bucharest (trust me on this one).
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here — and why it scores so well with guests — is that it delivers on being a proper boutique experience without the pretension. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience how everything just works smoothly, from check-in to checkout. Couples especially seem to appreciate the quieter location and the fact that you can have romantic dinners nearby without fighting crowds. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special in Bucharest, but you’re not paying for unnecessary frills or dealing with the chaos of a massive hotel operation.

What Our Guests Say
Hotel was excellent. Staff really welcoming and very helpful.
Absolutely beautiful hotel in a period building. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully designed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. This place has genuine character.
A fabulous hotel. Great period features
The hotel was in a quiet street, close to the old city center. Wonderful decoration in the hotel and bedrooms. It created plenty of atmosphere. Cozy bar and fabulous breakfast in the cellar. Staff were extremely helpful.
The staff were very helpful. The hotel 's public rooms were lovely. The distance between shabby chic & shabby could get a bit too close, though we loved the bar, the entrance hall & the dungeon breakfast room. Breakfast was straight out of Fawlty Towers.
Excellent breakfast. Take out breakfast provided for us when having a early start.
It was a hundred year old property, so had lots of character. There was someone at reception 24/7 and they were always helpful. It was a short walk from the old town 5-10 mins. It also has a small bar.
Beautiful hotel and very lovely staff
A lovely hotel, situated in a quiet area but still only 10-15 mins walk into the old town.
