Moxa Boutique is by far the best hotel in Bucharest. I stayed in many places in Romanian but Moxa Bucharest rocks. The 2 gentlemen at the front desk are super good, they made me feel special & we became friends for the 4 days I was at Moxa. They were very helpful & went out of their way to make me comfortable including giving me a great room. The GM of the property, Gratiela Badicu, would speak to me & check whether I was fine It all made me feel at home. They have a nice sitout, the bar is open throughout, the rooms are great & spotless.
Plus the location is just fantastic. Just a walk away from old town, supermarket, restaurants & the train station.
I will definitely be staying at Moxa when I'm back to Romania!

First Impressions
Walking up to MOXA Bucharest Boutique Hotel on Calea Victoriei, you immediately get that “this place knows what it’s doing” vibe. The building sits right at the crossroads with Mihail Moxa Street, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re literally in the heart of Bucharest without feeling like you’re drowning in tourist chaos. This four-star boutique property has that polished, intimate feel that makes you forget you’re staying at a hotel rather than some stylish friend’s place.
The Location Sweet Spot
Here’s what I love about this spot — Calea Victoriei is basically Bucharest’s main artery, so you can walk to most of the city’s highlights without breaking a sweat. The Old Town is just a few minutes away, and you know what? The couples who stay here absolutely get it (they rate the location 9.1, which honestly makes sense). You’ve got cafes, shops, and that perfect mix of historic architecture and modern life right outside your door. I mean, when locals are using the same street for their daily routines, you know you’re not stuck in some tourist bubble.
The Room Experience
The rooms here actually live up to the “boutique” promise — they’re thoughtfully designed without being pretentious about it. Each room feels carefully curated, with local touches that remind you you’re in Romania, not some generic international chain. The beds are properly comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and the bathrooms are well-appointed without going overboard. What struck me most was the attention to details that actually matter — good lighting, decent storage space, and windows that let in real light.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
The breakfast situation here is surprisingly comprehensive — they’ve got continental options, but also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. It’s set up buffet-style, which normally makes me a bit skeptical, but they actually keep things fresh and well-stocked. The local touches in the breakfast spread give you a nice taste of Romanian flavors without overwhelming you first thing in the morning. Plus, the restaurant area has this relaxed atmosphere where you can actually ease into your day instead of feeling rushed.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something telling about the fact that this place has more repeat guests than most other properties — people genuinely want to come back. I think it’s because MOXA strikes that perfect balance between being professional and personal. The staff seems to actually care about your experience rather than just going through the motions, and the whole place has this authentic Bucharest energy that you can’t fake. With an 8.4 rating and that excellent location score of 9.2, it’s clear that guests appreciate having a genuine base in the city rather than just a place to crash.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Bucharest around Armenian Quarter for wine bars, weekend markets, and art galleries.

Very friendly staff.
We got an elegant room with an antique feel & all modern necessities. Location on the main historical street by a quiet park, nice! As a bonus — a cozy small sauna, great for a couple to relax after a day in Bucarest.
And SUPER attentive staff: we got a coffee while check-in, a sunny breakfast outside and a bootle of water to go after check-out. We’ve visited 40+ countries, but this level attention to detail… Just wow!
Loved it.
Sauna, gym and garden were nice. The room was good and comfortable.
