First Impressions
Walking up to Old Town Home Library feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away on Strada Blănari. I’ll be honest — the sixth-floor location in an older building might seem intimidating at first, but once you step inside, you realize this four-star gem is something special. The name isn’t just clever marketing either; there are actually books everywhere, creating this cozy intellectual atmosphere that immediately sets it apart from typical hotel stays.
Location Magic
You know what’s incredible about this spot? You’re literally in the heart of Old Town Bucharest, but somehow removed from the chaos. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.8 out of 10 for good reason — you can walk to Lipscani Street’s bars and restaurants in under two minutes, yet when you close the apartment door, it’s surprisingly quiet. The cobblestone streets below buzz with energy, but being up on the sixth floor gives you this perfect bird’s-eye view of the historic district without the street noise.
The Space Itself
This isn’t your standard hotel room setup — it’s more like staying in a bookish friend’s well-appointed flat. The kitchen area is compact but actually functional (I managed to make proper coffee and even a simple breakfast), and there’s enough space to spread out your things without feeling cramped. The literary theme runs throughout, with carefully curated books in Romanian and English, plus reading nooks that actually invite you to sit and flip through pages rather than just look decorative.
Neighborhood Insights
Here’s something locals know but tourists often miss — this particular stretch of Blănari puts you within walking distance of both the touristy spots and the authentic Romanian experiences. There’s a fantastic traditional restaurant called Caru’ cu Bere just around the corner, but you’re also close to newer wine bars that showcase Romanian vintages. The National History Museum is practically next door, and honestly, after a day of sightseeing, coming back to this literary retreat feels like the perfect way to decompress.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it balances character with comfort. The 8.9 rating reflects what I experienced — it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully designed. The book collection alone could keep you entertained for days (there’s even a section on Romanian history that helped me understand the city better), and the location score of 9.7 isn’t just numbers — it’s the reality of being able to explore Bucharest’s best bits on foot. Plus, there’s something romantic about the whole setup that explains why couples rate it so highly; reading together by the window while Old Town unfolds below is pretty magical, actually.

Nice and clean apartment
The owner of the apartment wrote it himself, he was very friendly. The instructions for moving in were written beautifully, after which there were no questions left (there were photos and videos). The apartment was clean and tidy. I liked everything very much, I recommend it. The bed linen was fresh, there were more towels than necessary, which is also good.
We had a good time in Bucharest. The apartment is in a wonderful place - in the city center and easy to get from the airport by public transport. The apartment has a lot of dishes, all the amenities, a supermarket nearby. Thanks for the owner for his cooperation and responsiveness
Very nice apartment. Had everything we needed. The host was great and accommodating! Relatively close to the metro stations, so easy access to other parts of the city. Close to many restaurants, which results in noisy evenings on the weekend, but we did not mind it. Old Town has lots of beautiful buildings and museums to visit, many in a walking distance from this place.
The apartment in the middle of the old town
